A clash between Dynamo Kyiv’s Oleg Gusev and Dnipro’s goalkeeper led the Ukrainian player to choke on his tongue and be knocked unconscious. This was instantly spotted by the opposing player Jaba Kankava and he rushed to Gusev and removed the tongue to clear the airway. The move saved Gusev’s life as Kankaya’s reaction prevented the player from suffocating before medical officials got on the pitch
